  1. Rob says:

Number 10 is emmanuel eboue not adebayor!

  2. Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and Liverpool is my favorite team! Lionel Messi is pretty good as well

  3. oh and Rob ya his last name is actually adebayor wow why did you think it was eboue?

  4. admin says:

Rob was right, at the beginning there was a mismatch between Eboue and Adebayor and thanks to him, it is fixed now and Adebayor has his correct picture.

  5. sgParlay says:

    the title states 2009 right?
if so, then Ronaldinho should not be inside the list…

  6. admin says:

So what would you suggest? We’re interested to get your thoughts on that. Thanks!

  7. arda says:

arda turan from galatasaray…definitely in the top 15

  8. kenlass says:

messi is better than c. ronaldo

  9. Frederik says:

I’m absolutely shocked. How can anyone, who’s into football, leave out players such as Iniesta or Xavi. Imo they are both in top 5 of footballers in the world. Adebayor is waaay out of this list, as well is Ronaldinho..
I know it’s hard to compare defenders to offensive players, but since Casillas is on the list I guess it’s not a mistake that no player such as Vidic or John Terry has made the list.
I guess I concur with the rest. Or at least close.. :)

  10. brovah says:

What a load of bullcrap, these players are ALL from the Enlish, Italian and Spanish divisions. There are way better players than the ones you see regularly on tv. If we’re talking 2009, you should include players like Arda Turan and Grafite man.

  11. Tristan says:

haha i had a good laugh reading ‘brovah’s’ joke !

    1. adebayor should be taken out – agreed. vidic or lahm should be in instead.

    2. where is carlos puyol on this list? but there are enough spaniards thats for sure.

  12. olly says:

To the person who said its eboue, your wrong fucky arse

  13. ado says:

why messi is not the best footbaler .messi is really best.1 messi 2 ronaldo 3 ribery 4torres 5kaka 6 lampard 7ronaldinho 8ibrahimovic 9 kun aguero 10gerard

  14. ng2cru says:

LOL @ BROVAH – there is a reason and it’s that these leagues are the best in the world. arda turan is good but he aint got shit on any of the top 15. ALSO – adebayor may be going through good patch but he aint that good – where the fuck is iniesta – eto’ should not be allowed anywhere near this list

  15. Jae says:

LOL no Xavi, Iniesta, or Cesc?
    Fail

  16. Gerry says:

You forgot to ad Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill is playing good football for Everton and Charlie Davis.

  17. Daniel says:

    haha go david villa

  18. Andrew says:

Joke of a list, no drogba, no anelka, no Henry, no Vidic, no Tevez?

Ronaldo isn’t No.1 and Ronaldinho shouldn’t be there at all, Torres should not be 3. Rooney should

  19. Mario says:

    No Xavi or Iniesta?

    FAIL

    Ronaldinho shouldn’t be in there.

  20. nimz says:

WHAT??? Adabadooo is on this list?LMAO!!! and what sort of performances did Gerrard or Torres show to be among the best of 2009? They were both inconsistent and injury prune for most of 2009 and Eto’o??? what did he do other than getting rejected by Barca and sucking at inter??
I must say this is a very biased or very uneducated list.

  21. peater kendle says:

dont forget there are a couple players in the Brazilian adn Argentine leagues. dont let the european cameras sway you.

  22. itsjigabootime says:

why are Ronaldinho, and Ibrahimovic on this list? Did you even watch football this year?

  23. footballnotsoccer says:

Ronaldo is amazing… Why’d Real Madrid have to buy him off? He was better off on Manchester Unt. Messi’s in the right place, too.
Who saw Barca vs Tenerife? Barca beat the crap out of them 5-0. Messi: hattrick; Puyol: 1 header in, and a stupid own goal by Tenerife.

  24. footballnotsoccer says:

Ronaldinho shouldn’t be up there. He had one move and everyone was like “ooh ah look at that.”
    Iniesta should.

  25. footballnotsoccer says:

World cup 10 in June. It’s gonna be between Spain, Italy, and Brazil. Anyone know if C. Ronaldo’s playing?

  26. footballnotsoccer says:

Where the heck did America get the word soccer from? And how do you get football out of a game where you use your hands? Maybe it’s just patriotism and hate for the British.
You know, like King George 3 or something.

  27. sucks_list says:

this list amde obviously made by englsih prick,,, there lot of african best player like seydou kaita (barca), diarra, .. and others , eto is awsome,,what do you even put ronaldo ?? paris hitlon said about him i dont like guys who wear same cloths as mine hahahahahah! its just media who made him famous thats it

  28. Stevey8 says:

I believe that Arshavin played some of the best soccer last year, adebayor may have had some ups but he should not be on this list also Henry should be up there despite the hand ball against Ireland

  29. StantheMan says:

I know this is random but on my ipod I went on the calendar and went backwards to YEAR 1!!! It took me 3 hours. I bet your all thinking does this guy have a life? Apparently not.
    Oh, and Ronaldo’s awesome.

  30. Macka says:

ok, first of all, adebayor? second of all, ronaldinho? third, AGREED with the guy who said where the hell is puyol! Absolutely one of the top five players of last year. who cares if he’s not a forward? Please do not make one of these lists if you don’t even watch football. Lot’s more mistakes but no time.

  31. Anonymous says:

where the HELL is fabregas? and why do you have some many professional divers on there, i think that invalidates most of their accomplishments

  32. lucky7 says:

Here’s what the REAL list should look like:

    2.Lionel Messi
    3.Wayne Rooney
    4.Kaka
    5.Zlatan Ibrahimovic
    6.Xavi

  33. CR9 says:

    @lucky7

Definitely agree. You probably have the best, most accurate list I’ve seen yet, for 2010.

  34. rob says:

This is an absolutely horrible list, i could tell just by the 1st choice, no messi was better than ronaldo last year, he led barca to champions league glory, wtf did gerrard do last eyear, sure he had a good year but nothing special im a big fan of his too…
